Hi @user_not_found

I am sorry to say that @LucioV is right. You should close your Local Guide account right now, as per Local Guides program rules.

You can still contribute with your Gmail account, and re-join Local Guides program when you will be 18, without loosing your points.

In any case, the minimum age for events like Connect Live’18 is 21, that is the legal age in California for drinking alcohol.

I would like to remind you that when you created your Google account you were asked to verify your age with clear guidelines that your age will limit your access to certain products/features or services if you are under 18 years old. Some content comes up with specific age restrictions and the Local Guides program is part of the services that required you to be of age.

I would like to ask you to revise our Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions.

Since you are underage, I would like to ask you to exit the program from this page Local Guides settings page. You are more than welcome back after you turn 18 years old.

Don’t worry about your points. You have to close your account or your account will be closed.

But it will be better in my eye if it is you that closed it.

If you know others that is violating the age requirement of the LGs program rules, you can report them to Google Moderators via private channels. You just need to state you wany to report someone (but never disclose details in public), then one of the Google Moderators will contact you in public.

Back to your question. When you quit the LG program, you will have no LG points. But your Maps contributions will remain in your account. When you join LG program in future, any applicable contributions will count towards your LG point at that moment.

Hi @LucioV ,

Keep in mind, as the same rules apply to everyone, your family should not violate the Local Guides Program Rules, either. With that said, they are more than welcome to join at 18 years of age.

To exit the Local Guides Program, visit the Local Guides settings page.
