For me, the fastest way of feeling that I am contributing to Google Maps is answering the three questions about accessibility, kid-friendly items and other topics about a place I went. It makes me observe and really process my surroundings, which is great! Instead of just noticing only some details in a time when there are a lot of visual and sound stimuli, I get to be present in it and also stop to think about how other people may interact with the place. Observing other project’s solutions to user experience in the physical world helps me create better design solutions.
Most of my contributions are to restaurants, about which I’m just passionate! I feel like having a good or a bad meal shapes one’s day, specially when travelling, so I do my best to help people get the best food and I always look for the same.
