This biggest ever campaign on mapping / drawing roads organised by local guides on connect and Google maps from March 23rd-Sept 23rd the year 2023!!! It cuts across all continents and 118 countries it involved almost a hundred local guides. We were not thinking of the points, that was nothing in comparison to 50,000 approved new roads on Google Maps. Don’t forget the time frame of our work scope. Although we met our target in about 5 months and a week yet we would officially say 6 months. We enjoyed the team spirit and togetherness. We did our best to improve the maps. We made lots of discoveries on mapping and how the AI works. We studied out the approval time. We also had fun, now our great achievement.
Therefore in collaboration with my co-host @LovePathak28 and with data from @MarcoDavoli our articulated statistician. Permission from @Lukas_1 the top man and highest contributor on the campaign.Heads high up,shoulders straight,hands joined together in team work,we proudly and hereby announce the achievement of our TRAC 50,000 set target of new approved roads added on Google Maps all around the world . When we started our campaign,we pointed out very clearly that this is not a competition but a campaign. We also mentioned that we don’t have medal or prizes to award after the event but we will publish the top 10 local guides on TRAC. It’s time to fulfil our promise. Note that most local guides on the top 10 rank have added at least 1,000 roads during the event.
It has been a very inspiring work together as a team of local guides. Seeing this was so very interesting and great,we would plan to hold this as an annual campaign to add roads on Google Maps. We may try different patterns and approach, yet the aim is to improve Google maps. We appreciate all who were like spectators and couldn’t be part of it this year. Some even did better than just sit and watch they registered to be part of us but were not active.Nevertheless all things being equal and if we are spared,please plan to be a part of this success story. I will endeavour not to tag anyone on this so that we can thank everyone for this great achievement and wonderful initiative. We have got more ideas up our sleeves,TRAC team is here to stay and determined to improve the maps. Stay tuned and keep connected.
Even though we DM almost every single day now, I have to tell you how great this campaign was and that it motivated me enough to continue mapping till every road is done. Through all the hardships I’ve had these 4-5 months since joining the campaign, the routine of mapping roads has always gave me the needed motivation to keep going. I really appreciate how much impact our contributions will have for billions of maps users.
I’ve had some great conversation with other participants and learned a lot throughout the campaign and that’s why I value every interaction I’ve had.
I would tag people from top10 here, but we need to give more recognition to the runner ups, that may have joined later but still contributed a ton and were great companions.

The outcome of the campaign is now many of the local guides have added some or many roads on Maps but still there are many local guides who have zero count for roads added in their profile. Congratulations @Lukas_1 for being the top contributor in this campaign and also @MarcoDavoli the Statistician @NareshDarji the road man of Bharat @ErmesT our Senior LG and Specially @SholaIB for making this great Idea for adding roads.

Huge congratulations to all! Even though I contributed very little compared to some, I am happy to have been a part of it and contributed to the team, and to my country! I had no idea I could do this before the campaign so it has been eye opening for sure. Now I can help instead of complain that the roads are not correct

It was really a great pleasure to be a part oc this team. I’d a great learning experience from this campaign. All of you are great and were very nice during the campaign. You all supported each other. We had lot of fun while this campaign.
Before joining the campaign I was struggling to add a road. Yes… My first road… And then I hit the Jackpot. I Joined the TRAC campaign. And today my road count is 49. I know I was slow during campaign… But I took it as my training session. You all are amazing persons with a great heart.
Hi @SholaIB , It’s really a great news. I received the Road Mapper tools in 2020. Unfortunately, I did not draw. Because I did not have a Laptop/PC. Now, I have one and a few days ago I started to draw on Maps.
Thank you for your dedication to this campaign. It’s so nice to have local guides like you on our team. Your energy for improving the maps is unbeatable.

Congratulations to everyone. It is a great news, @SholaIB , to know that we were able to reach our ,goal in advance, especially because 50 thousands is an unbelievable number. When I wrote the post about my “first” 1000 roads added in Maps I wanted to comment on @JanVanHaverpost about " “I wonder if it would be possible/realistic to reach a 4-digit number…” 17 months later my target is to reach a 5 digit number before mid of October, and I think that It will be hard but possible, if I can have 40 roads approved every day.
Congratulations to everyone who joined the campaign, starting from @Lukas_1 and @MarcoDavoli , who touched the sky by starting from scratch, down to the ones who joined in the very last days, like @TravellerG .
You guys are changing the words, trying to give to everyone the possibility to use the most amazing navigation system of the world to arrive at home.
We still have a lot to do, Shola, and I hope this post will stimulate others to try.
I think that you, Lucas, Marco and @LovePathak28 should write a post together, telling us how the backstage was, the passion, the ideas, the enthusiasm that is behind a so great goal.
Another suggestion (please forgive this old guy) is to .continue to keep track of the numbers of the TRAC for at least other three months. We know that one part of the added roads are approved in a time-frame of 3 months, so it will be interesting to see how far the Long Wave will arrive.
