The head of a fish is an excellent source of calcium and collagen. Visually it may be a total turn off at first, but eventually you’ll get used to eating them. They are actually quite delicious and good for you. They are salty, crispy, and go well with hot premium Japanese rice.
Meals like this can still be enjoyed today, but are not as common now. Younger people prefer bread or hot sandwiches to the more traditional ways. Rice balls or more of a Continental style than fish heads in the mornings is more common now. Some people have asked me how I get full eating these portions. I do get full when I eat about 3 servings of white rice with fish heads. Rice is usually either served in a small bowl or a much larger container as a side dish.
Are you still holding on to your traditions or do you prefer a more Western-style menu for breakfast?
Thanks for sharing this nice post @user_not_found . Fish head is one of my favorite dishes indeed. In my home, when fish is cooked, the fish head is kept for me . And in the other places, if I get a chance, I always choose the fish head. But, I do not like the fried fish head that much .
Ilish fish-head curry, Ilish is our national fish.
This fish head looks really good. I love salty and crispy flavors and textures on my fish head. Is the fish dish northern or southern cuisine in your homeland?
Ha Ha…Well it does look angry & scary…I’d be afraid to bite it…And to eat for that matter, was never a “Fish Guy”…Would try when travelling though, then you need to puch holes in the “Comfort Zone”.
I feel that you missed to TAB the author in your comment.

Hello @TravellerG glad it was okay. I need to be sensitive to advocates for Animal Rights and some religious types when I post about certain food items. Another LG member on here loves fish too @Stella2@AbdullahAM@Ewaade_3A
