Android took submissions to name the new operating system “N” after a sweet snack in line with previous names (like Cupcake, KitKat and Marshmallow). Today they announced the winner: Nougat.
Ever since Android 1.5, the mobile operating system has chosen a sweet snack as its moniker. The new build “N” will be released later this summer and include features like:
Daydream support (Google’s new VR platform)
Split-screen multi-window mode
Better notification functionality
Improved performance
Fun fact: The internal code name for Android N was “New York Cheesecake.”
I’m so excited to install and play with new Android Nougat. Sadly support for my Nexus 5 was ended . So I must switch from official ROM to some community ROM.
