Andaman and Nicobar Islands is something which is India, far away from India. You can almost all Indian dishes to eat, almost anything to drink, but at much higher price. You know why? Because almost every item is sent from mainland cities of Chennai or Kolkata. Single cancelled flight or unloaded cargo results only in wastage. People know it for beautiful islands, vegetation, local culture, cuisine, clean beaches, peace, water sports and even to see only volcano of India. However, my love for this place and people is for their culture. The local population is mix of almost every community found in India. You’ll find mixture of Bengalis, punjabis, Tamilians, Maliyalis, Marathis, North Easterns, Bihari etc belonging to Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and even Parsi religions. They live in harmony and gelled with each other so well that it is not possible to have complete Andaman without any of them. People know each other by face and do not hesitate asking for lift till next stop if they see any unoccupied vehicle. Why not, what’s the risk? No one can run out of here after committing any crime. I must say - if h want to see India, away from India, within India, then go to Andaman Islands.
