Ancient villages in my journey.Spirit of local guides

Hello local Guides

My post this time is very personal story ,but connect is like my close family. So I have enough courage to share my personal story as a local guides . And thank you for lovely word from @Saiyen make sure to my self for saying yes connect is my family .

I started as local Guides few years ago ( I can’t remember exactly but I really interested about local guides since 2017 .My focus is learn about ancient villages in remote area sukabumi and some of ancient villages in Banten Province , dozens of ancient villages and mostly unlisted on google maps .

Everything caused by a reason, yeah and my reason is I lose contact with a very close friend. Before we lost contact, he told me several times with very seurious wanted to live freely without having to follow a some culture that he felt was already unreasonable and tended to be too excessive ,that’s why he leave the villages and working in a big city to break away from the ties of tradition ,he told me also his family will opposite it , and this decision has very high consequences

Because i’m also from village actually and some of us still doing the old tradition and everything is fine ,not big issue. So I support him for best choice. But everything getting worse with him and in my last conversation by SMS I’m asking with fully of worries

"is this because of the consequences of leaving tradition. " ?

No answer, everything gone, phone number never ON,no one social media account with him ,all lose contact about him until today .

Few months later , I try typing a clue on Google maps from him, name of village who his uncle living with very strong traditions "Cisungsang " and result from Google maps in 2017 is blank area in Banten Province with some of photos show people’s with traditional uniform in black color and doing sacred of ritual . No review ,no street view ,no any information . But for me the photos more than enough make sure behind this village name is big secret .

So I started focus as local guides, collect of any information all about the ancient of villages , trying to created friendship with local people’s ,But the information is very limited. Finally I got the book "Kasepuhan Cisungsang ’

I read interesting part of the book about law, for those who do not follow customary rules ,the book said for a person who violates customary law during his life suffers, gets sick or even dies .the local language called “kabendon”

Based from book I try to get more information from any source , I know this topic very sensitive and too rude for a question for local people, that’s why in the book no more information, because law of tradition based on story and keep secret only for their community not for others

This is long journey, and for several years learn about any ancient villages, and of course the story about missing my close friend keep secret with my mind ,all the journey for me like challenge .

3 times visited to this ancient village and the results in not too good . Distance from my place to Kasepuhan Cisungsang arround 100 km maybe more I’m solo trip touring by motorbike in a same day

  • My first visit in 2018 I come suddenly in my weekend and without notice to my local people friend and the result is I’m a stranger lost in the unknown village, this village is local tourism because rich of cultures and ritual (especially event seren taun )But come alone and you’re girl is something weird here .and my phone number of my local people friends for all day is inactive
  • Second visit , more prepared , I come here when annual event "seren taun"thousands of people’s from all villages gathering for ritual traditional thankful harvest rice ,but real challenge for me I lose of key motorbike in my rest in a half trip at fuel station,So i spending more than 2 hours for looking for the key of motorbike and nothing . I should break (cut) some cables and connect the wire of cable by manual for turn ON the machine without key and forcibly opening the lid of the gasoline for refuel. The result is lose of my many time and the ritual of seren taun is ended .
  • Third visit in 2019 here more and more prepared yes my local friend sick can’t guides me and other untold stories is the team of author book of Kasepuhan Cisungsang also cancelled their trip in last day and always challenge with me because the all of the day electricity is off and phone signal is missing can’t make a call to other local people’s for more discussion ,get and more information and finally my time is over .

So the point is the rules of life in ancient villages and punishment so secret only for their community and I respect this factor . Thank you so much for all friends local people’s for all information, I for also prayer for my old close friend, he did too much kindness for me , hopefully everything is fine with him. I do not expect at all he was dead so when I meet in the future i can request to him buy a cup of tea for me as compensation because I traveled a lot as local guides because him.

Don’t worries if you want learn or visiting Kasepuhan Cisungsang and other Kasepuhan like Kasepuhan Cipta Mulya here ,Kasepuhan Sirna Resmi,or Kasepuhan Cipta Gelar here ( I visited all ). All local people’s there always welcome, very friendly .the villages also very beautiful , nature and peaceful, spend a few night, live a life like a local people for more enjoying the atmosphere is very recommended .

for me this journey never ever end .

The last one ,thank you Connect for save part of journey as Local guides , I know should sort some of stories but local guides make it all possible .
