Ancient settlement near Staraya Belitsa

The Early Iron Age settlement is located near the village of Staraya Belitsa on the highway that connects the district center and the Orsha-Lepel highway.
From an archaeological point of view, it is not of great interest - it is a defensive site, people on it only hid in times of danger (the remains of a defensive shaft serve as proof of this). There is almost no cultural layer on it. Although there is evidence that a shield was found on this site at the beginning of the last century. But in the folk memory of the settlement there is a legend.
Once upon a time there was a large brick church on the site. It majestically towered over the terrain, giving the impression of flight. The people who lived then said, “we live under God.” Nobody knows how long it went on, but once a young pop appeared in church. He must have absorbed all the evils of the human race. He played pop, as they say, left and right, he knew nothing. And for such his mischief, God was angry with him and infuriated him.

And in the church vaults, since the French war, large reserves of gunpowder were stored. Crazy pop came down in the vault, lit a wick, and the whole church soared. Since then, a large pit has been preserved in the middle of the settlement.
So it was or not, we will not know now, but as some locals testify, in the settlement and indeed from time to time there are bricks, which are not like modern ones, but made of clay.
Now the settlement is covered with shrubs and trees. Once the local authorities made sure that it did not heal, now it is not. Another plaque was installed on the site, which said that it is a monument of history, but this plaque is also missing now.
