Last December 2017 I had the privilege to had traveled to southern Turkey to the city of Sanliurfa and visited their museum which houses some of the greatest archaeological pieces on the planet. These were from Göbekli Tepe which is what we think is a religious site dating to 12000 to 10,000 years ago. This is located in an region we call the fertile crescent. This site where the dig is was closed but many artifacts were moved into the museum for all to see. I am not going to lie, this city isn’t far from the Syrian border and we had to go through many military check points travelling to the city. But as a student of Anthropology and Archaeology, which was worth the travel as we saw the beginning of man’s civilization. These founded our civilization in their cultivation of wheat and the animal husbandry. If there is a place where we can say we started from, it was here.
