Huge Temple (cave or Kudavarai in Tamil) 500 to 1000 years old. Goddess is fondly called Araikasu (kasu means coin) Amman. Devotees pray to her to get back their lost or misplaced articles by offering jaggery. It is said and believed that they get back. Lord Shiva relieved divine cow Kamadhenu from a curse in this place. Stone architecture. It seems there were thousands of Michael Angelos in India patronised by the then rulers. After the advent of British, Moguls etc., the regard and respect for art works were lost. Amazing sculptures were vandalised by the war mongers then and local people now. There are more than 60000 temple in Tamilnadu alone!

It is impossible to visit even 1000 important temples in one’s life time. But videos and photos of major temples are now available in the web. There are 79154 temples in Tamilnadu alone!!
