An update on “Check the facts” and “Discover missing info”

Here on Connect, we strive to keep our most active Local Guides updated on changes and updates on Google Maps. Read on to learn more about two recent adjustments to the app.

You might have noticed that the entry point for the “Check the Facts” feature has been moved. Now you can get to it by tapping on Contribute > More ways to contribute > Check the Facts (in the carousel at the top).

We have also removed the “Discover missing info” feature from the Google Maps app. For those of you who are less familiar with it, this was a map view that showed several places with outstanding questions for users to answer.

While these features as you know them have been adjusted, our team is always exploring how we can update functionality and features to make the app even better. We’re currently working to create an improved user experience in future iterations. We’ll continue to develop new ways for Local Guides to answer questions, help make edits, and complete other tasks on Google Maps.

Updates sind oft sinnvoll und führen zu einer besseren Nutzung, Bedienbarkeit oder auch mehr Sicherheit.

Ich gehörte zu denjenigen die nach dem Update von Google Maps erst einmal auf der Suche waren nach

der Zeitachse oder meinen Beiträgen. Schließlich ist man ja gewöhnt an einer bestimmten Stelle zu klicken,

wenn dann plötzlich alles anders aussieht …

Auch ich gehöre zu denjenigen die hin und wieder einen Fehler in Maps ausfindig machen und diesen Fehler dann unter Bearbeitung korrigiert einstellen. Wenn dann endlich nach gefühlten Monaten dort steht “nicht übernommen” gehen einfach nur noch die Fragezeichen auf. Eigentlich alles richtig gemacht, den Fehler beschrieben, den neuen Text, Standort oder wie auch immer markiert und sogar Fotos mit hinzugefügt. Da stellt man sich denn doch die Frage wer da oder hier wohl was macht. Schade, das ist sicher ein Punkt an dem intensiv gearbeitet werden sollte.

Kleiner Zusatz,

Ich habe vor zwei Tagen einen neuen Ort erstellt, Foto eingefügt, Beschreibung geliefert und nun das :

Corona Testzentrum Lobetal
Nicht übernommen · Erstellter Ort
Google erlaubt keine Änderung dieses Standorts
Bearbeitet am 25. Juni • 2 Fotos hinzugefügt

Ich würde jetzt echt gern mal wissen was das soll? denke hier ist eine ausführlicher Erklärung ganz dringend von Nöten!!!
