Barely 24 hours on this medium, and already a takedown on my own IP.
A google Connect moderator removed a picture of I had taken of Oregon City in the morning. And apparently that’s just that? No means to let me prove it’s my own property?
It is the same link that you have probably received on your email, with a message by a Google Moderator that you can tag here, to explain that the picture right’s are owned by you. My suggestion is to always declare the ownership of a picture (I do this in every post), otherwise, to protect the author’s right, the picture or the post will be removed
to be sure that the person you are talking with will receive you message, please tag him, using “@” and selecting the username of the person on the pop-up.
On the same way you can tag the Google Moderator who removed your post (type @ , then type slowly the username on the pop-up), explaining that the photo is yours.
The moderators normally check if a contributions is available on the web, but it is not always possible to verify the author. A watermark will help for sure to protect your photographic production
Yeah, my guess is they may have seen a watermark, but just not made the connection that it was my own.
It’s fine, I’m not overly concerned about that particular one. And as per advice, I’ll be sure to make it a little more clear that the images are my own.
I don’t believe I have a means to remove the thread myself. (I’ll look again in a moment) Aside that, I’d consider the matter resolved. The following posts seem to be doing fine, thanks again for the feedback.
Miranda
Yet another takedown on my own IP, and now it seems Connect is taking issue over me posting behind the brand, (and not quite business) that I’m posting under. (Blurry Bits Photography, the same entity they seem to think I’m stealing photos from)
I don’t want to be combative about this, because I think that Guides Connect is a really good thing. I am really trying here to operate in good faith, but the hits keep coming in.
I have a return email already in over the brand-name issue. And, I rather suspect that much of my troubles here is probably from AI flagging posts due to a watermark, and the responding guides just not performing due diligence. But, this is just a guess.
So I shall appeal to the moderators. There seems to be a fair handful that have been following.
Please, parse my data. All my google maps contributions, if Google+ data is still in archive, look at that too.
I’m here to help, I’m here to be a friend. There will be no occasion outside of my watermarks on the photos where you can say that I have ever manipulated the platform to my own benefit, no SEO, nothing.
I preserve the name in case it can become a viable business. We aren’t even close. I’m just a photographer…
Eh close enough?
Yes, Mt Angel Station, and Winter Mornings in Oregon City, were arbitrarily taken down.
I want to be clear, I don’t wish to make piecemeal arguments in regards to the taken down posts.
That pales to me in comparison that my motives on the platform itself seem to be portrayed as anything other than the post themselves.
Yes, I post behind Blurry Bit’s name. I have to to prevent photo-theft. And well, the real conundrum -
Fiscal Year 2019 - 0$
Fiscal Year 2018 - 0$
Fiscal Year 2017 - $240.00
You see a pattern?
Yeah, I see why they may say I’m posting as a business. And if it ever breaks the bar, no it won’t be “Miranda Thomas Photography”
I hope we can get this fixed, I really do. It’s a good medium, I’d like to play in it - who know’s might actually help me become that business they suspect me of…
