An unforeseen break in the City of Dreams

Mumbai, one of the largest and most populous cities in India, is popularly known as the City of Dreams. The city holds close to 21 million people and is the financial capital of the country. The people in this city are passionate, hard-working and never stop. It’s almost impossible to imagine that anything could bring this city to halt. But, it happened and that too, by a virus - COVID 19.

The Govt. of India decided to take much needed severe steps to control the pandemic spread which could become unstoppable in the future. The entire country is currently in lockdown which can arguably be called the biggest lockdown on this planet ever. It’s not easy to keep 1.3 billion inside their places. This includes Mumbai too.

I recently came across a YouTube video created by a channel called Mumbai Live. The link for the video is provided below. The group has tried to capture the soul of this city during the lockdown period. The video shows empty roads and deserted tourist spots which no one would have imagined earlier. Only the people of India can truly understand the emotions these scenes depict.

Nevertheless, the current measures where people are locked in their homes definitely brings a positive development for flora and fauna all over the world. I believe we can still start respecting nature so that we do not observe anything like this in the future.

[Any feedback or suggestions are truly welcome]

This video is quite amazing @Ankit_Verma thanks for sharing it. There certainly are not all that many people moving around on the planet at the moment. It is quite a moving video and certainly not the bustling India I remember from my visit.

Oh definitely @MortenCopenhagen . Right now I’m in New Delhi and honestly I haven’t seen a better environment in the last 4-5 years.
