An Ode to Google

Google maps has become an integral part of mine and almost everyone around’s lives. What started as a mere road map app is now a necessity in phone.

I have been on my own for over a decade now. Never was too good with remembering roads (fun fact - I still ain’t any good)… always used to stop on the corner of the road to ask someone the directions unless otherwise ending up on the wrong route at times.

But then Google Maps came in making life easier and faster. Not only I know how and what route goes where, I can also know where I’ll be affected by traffic and what route will help avoid it.

While I was taking all the benefits of this system, I felt like I wanted to help a million others. Putting up small businesses, New cafes, landmarks and helping the people around gave me a thrill. I started reviewing the places on map. Now I was sharing my experience with all - What I saw, what I felt, how was I treated, what kind of service I took and helping people make an informed choice.

I think Google as a company did a fantastic job by giving us, the localite, an opportunity to contribute to the community as a whole.
