I want to highlight an issue that might not be seen as a big issue, but when it starts happening so frequently, then it starts disturbing you. I think, as I remember, I have faced this earlier as well, but now it has been increased since a month. So I am adding two screenshots, and you can see that my points suddenly decreased, and after refreshing 2-3 times, that is, by going back and then returning to that screen, or after closing the Google Maps app and removing the app from background running, then opening the app again makes the original points back.
As you can see, at the time of this post, my points are 14,158, but it decreases to 13,968, and after refreshing 2-3 times, it returns back. I don’t know why it’s happening, and now it’s happening so frequently. Today only it happened almost 8-10 times with me. Kindly share if others are having the same issue or not.
Hi @Shaunak
Sorry about that. I am not able to replicate your issue in my account and of course I cannot check yours, because it’s not shared in your profile in Connect.
Can you share with us the version of the app you are using, and the related Operating System?
In any case the best solution for this issue is to send a feedback to the team directly with the App, because in this way also the info about your device will be shared.
Tap on your avatar on the Explore section of the App, and select Help and Feedback.

@Shaunak
I observed a minor fluctuation of 10 points but I didn’t notice anything major. Points are always prone to fluctuations given that we delete lots of media, some media gets hidden too. We get points for approved content too. Though it’s happening at very moment which a bit odd. @ErmesT
When there is some update in the road contribution number, then there is a slight fluctuation in the contribution number, but as soon as the road number is updated, the contribution numbers become correct and this happens often with me. Sometimes at the time of photo and review.
Thanks @Shaunak
I see this all the time, to me it seems like you connect to some Google server with an updated count, then you refresh and you get the data from somewhere that is not updated yet. (Cached data? live data? Who knows how the app works?)
Then I check in an hour and then you have the more up-to-date count. It’s always the higher number that was observed initially in the day.
Thank you for your comment @ErmesT my Google Maps version is this: 24.50.04.705335264 (#1067838745) and I am facing this issue in Android (Nothing Phone 1).
