An honest view of the Maltese Islands

If you are planning to visit Malta take your time and read this.

Malta is a beautiful island with a rich history and culture, although one must know that the island is being taken over by many nations. Places and locations that one must see if they are on a short holiday of around 3 days have to be the following.

  • Valletta
  • Marsaxlokk
  • The 3 cities
  • Gozo

Prices are not very high but be careful of people overcharging especially in tourist locations, Make sure to ask for prices in advance.

Commuting around Malta can be a bit difficult in peak hours due to high traffic congestion. Try to avoid these hours: From 07:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.

Using the bus in Malta is cheap but one needs to know that your holiday will be cut in half due to the long journeys. Make use of these services if you need to get around with ease:

  • Ecabs
  • Bolt
  • Uber

Food is amazing and one must try our local Pastizzi, A puff pastry haven filled with ricotta cheese or peas.

Also, Visit Mgarr where you can find a good number of restaurants that serve traditional Maltese Quesine.

Hello @LeeMaltaMarvin

I see that this is your first post here on Connect and I enjoyed reading it as indeed Malta is a beautiful place to visit. However, are you correct in saying that the island is being taken over by many nations or should this have been has been taken over by many nations?

I would say was and is again being taken over. Its a bit sad that you go to a restaurant and almost no one is Maltese. 20 years ago this was not the case.

@LeeMaltaMarvin Muito obrigada pelas dicas. Irei para Malta dia 24/03 e ficarei até o dia 07/04 , vou fazer um pequeno intercambio para melhorar meu Inglês. Tenho certeza que viverei belos momentos lá e poderei desfrutar da culinária. Feliz 2024 para você.
