An encounter with the Street View Car!

The date was Monday, September 23, 2013. Through the back window of my then office, I saw a car with a Google sticker parked in the car parking area of ​​Hotel Tiger Garden.

A football shaped camera was fit on top of the car. Until then, I had only heard about Google Street Maps, that all the street pictures of the world are available on Google Maps.

Seeing the car, I realized that surely with this car, Google will upload pictures of the streets of Khulna.

I told my boss as well as big brother about it, he is very enthusiastic like me. The two of us went to see the car.

The driver was amiable. Although at first glance I mistook him as an African, but later I saw that he was a genuine Bengali man.

I found out from him that this is the car he drives all around the country and there is a camera attached to the computer/server inside the car and through it 360° street pictures are uploaded to Google, which we can see by scrolling through Google’s Street View map.

It is still an awesome memory for me and a constant reminder of how fast we are advancing.

Thank you for telling us your story. It sounds like you really enjoyed that day and seeing the Street View car. Were you allowed to get inside the car? Did you check if they uploaded the photos of the street afterwards?
