I am Asif. I started contributing in google maps out of nothing. Aa time passed contribution through photo, review, information sharing, answering Q&A’s became a regular activity. I started loving these activities. I never checked my local guide levels till couple of months back. When i came to learn, due to some technical issues my local guide status was suspended. I contacted the google maps. With their support, could resolve the issue. And finally saw my level as a contributor. Whenever i went to visit any new places i would always look for the review, photos, and Q&A. That gave me the feeling that the feedback matters. A tiny bit of information could be of great help for someone alse. So, now i have become more regular in those activities. Couple of weeks back i got a surprising mail from google maps, that they were going to send me a pin as appreciation!!! And today is the it finally arrived. Like all other contributors, we do it not foe the money, for our own happiness, by spreading information.
I am certainly not the first one and will not be the last to get such appreciation. But i am highly honoured. Those who all are yet to receive such appreciation, I just want to tell, “no worries, its around the corner!!!”
