Amazing views of the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea, or Salt Sea, is actually a salt lake. It is not connected to the world ocean. The only source of water is the Jordan River. All this causes the water to evaporate and leave behind massive amounts of salt, making it so dense that people can float on top of it. Extremely salty water of the sea gives lead to the name “Dead Sea” because no fish can survive in such water. The Dead Sea is also the lower place on earth. Its surface and shores are about 400 meters below sea level. The Dead Sea is surrounded by Israel from Western side and Jordan from Eastern one. The Dead Sea has attracted visitors for thousands of years. Nowadays, the Dead Sea is also a place popular with tourists and locals. Some people prefer to take advantage of the medical properties of the water, as well as tourists staying for a short time to experience this unique lake and surroundings

Thank you so much @Thai_Ngh !

Sometimes, It depends on weather conditions. Also, the best time to take pictures on the Dead Sea is an hour or two before sunset. The colors are different.

Hi @Andrey_K ,

Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos and the detailed information about the Dead Sea.

I visited this amazing place around 15 years ago, and I will never forget the heat that I felt when we went out of the car. It was so hot this day that even the water in the sea didn’t help :).

It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the feeling at this ancient place.

Hi @MoniV ,

Thank you for your comment and for sharing your memories. This place is really amazing. As I can imagine, you visited the Dead Sea in summer when it’s extremely hot there. I would recommend to visit this place in spring or fall to fill more comfortable and to enjoy both the sea and the weather.

What else places did you visit in Israel?
