How did I get here?
Google organized a press conferences in many country and also in Switzerland. The goal was communicate about the anniversary of google maps (15) and about news features.
Matthias M. who is Google’s PR head for Switzerland contacted me and asked me if I want to come on the day of the press conference and have a talk about the local guides.

Main reception
I arrived at 9.15am on the reception with very cool design and a model of Google’s buildings (blue) in Zurich ??.
Before the press conference
Before entering on the press conference room, I had a chance to take a few pictures. There were several photo on frames with some specials new steps during last years for google in switzerland such as Street View shooting in the mountains with a backpack.
A few minutes before starting
It was really crazy to have my name and as a local guide on the welcome screen for the journalists who would be there.

Press conference : Celebrating #Googlemaps15 in Switzerland ??
The conference was really interesting. We talked about Google’s history. Until today and that’s where the importance of local guides was discussed.
During 10 minutes, I replied to questions and I could talk about why I am proud to be a local guide and how it is interesting for me to be able to help people with google maps.
Finally, the upcoming and recently implemented functionalities were discussed. For example, “Plus code” which I didn’t know at all and which allows to have a digital address in the real world.

At the end of the day and after the press conference Matthias gave me the possibility to try the new version for the backpack’s Street View and let me walk a few steps with it!
