The thing that I love sharing the most on Google Maps are beautiful and natural places around the world, along with adding reviews on small businesses and answering questions on Google Maps about the places that I have personally visited.
I love to tell everyone about places where I have had great experiences and lasting memories.
I feel that if I share my experiences with everyone, they too can have the same happiness that I experienced in those locations. I also believe that this would encourage people to share their wonderful experiences with me as well. So for my first post, I traveled to Amaya Hunas Falls, which is located just past Matale in Kandy (Central Province). Snuggled beautifully between high mountain ranges and a scenic view, this spectacular hotel is an ideal spot for a weekend getaway.
If you are traveling by train it is merely an hours drive from the Kandy Railway Station.
Just 100 meters away from the hotel is the Hunasfalls Waterfall. A very cool and calm climate surrounds the whole area. The view is absolutely breathtaking and makes you think the time you took to travel there was well worth it. It is an ideal place for a short walk and forget the troubles of the hustle and bustle of the city. I, for one, can say that I was not disappointed. Right on the doorstep of the hotel is Sembuwatta Lake. It is a pristine unpolluted lake, just what you need to calm your nerves for the weekend.
Pros - Good cool climate, excellent view, great food at the hotel, boat rides in the lake
Cons - Leechs (on the way to the waterfall), you cant swim in the lake
One thing that you should be prepared for is the cold weather and unexpected rain. Other than that its the perfect mini vacation.
