Amala: a special Nigerian food

Amala is an Africa food. It is a common food among the South West people in Nigeria specifically the Yoruba culture.

Amala is made with Yam flour and it is best served with Ewedu ( a special soup from south west Nigeria) and Gbegiri ( a special African soup) with stew and assorted meats.

Amala derived it black colour from the dried Yam after which is later grounded to powder. The Oyo tribe in Nigeria are most known with this food. Hardly will the tribe celebrate any festive without the preparation of Amala.

Thank you for sharing, @Seyijoseph . I can’t even start to imagine the taste of Amala but I’m sure it tastes wonderful.

Well done for this description of this yoruba dish.
