Amakama wooden cave

The tree stands very tall in height with a gigantic hollow right in the middle, wide enough to contain 15-20persons coupled with its flourishing branches.

Amazing!

@Drcjessie

What a wonderful writeup you have.

You should have added more pictures and more literature to your post to make it more comprehensive.

Where can we locate this place? Do we have to pay to gain access into the big hollow shoot of the tree?

What is the Google map location of these area. Is the tree a deity or not? Etc,

Why haven’t the tree be cut down, is the tree posing a risk to human lives living around the area. Etc.

Thank you

And best regards.

@Austinelewex sorry about that, I guess I would start giving more details here. I referred my blog cause all details are there… I would answer your questions though :blush:

The wooden cave is located in a community called Isienyi Amakama in Umuahia South LGA, Abia state.

Payment to enter is not specific as its what you have you can offer to the person taking care of the area.

The tree is not a deity but was a safe haven for the people in the community during the Biafra war, festivities are held there too but not as much as before due to Christianity, that tradition is waning.

Hi @Drcjessie

Thanks for sharing this. By the way, I’ve noticed you had put a French language tag, but since the post is in English I’ve removed it. Also, I enlarged your photos to be able to see them better.

What an interesting place this is? You mentioned it’s a tree with a hollow? How big is this tree? Do you have a photo of it?

Thanks!

@Drcjessie Incredible! This cave doesn’t look like a wooden cave. I have read the information in your blog, it’s great!
