Queenstown is such a unique city that it looks like Swiss Alps with peaks like Ben Lomond, Cecil Peak, The Remarkable, Walter Peak, Cardrona.
I am not a particular adrenaline thrill seeker. We visited Queenstown just for sightseeing. It was like an impulse trip - wife said she had some Airpoints left and we must use it by the end of the year. So we had a mini holiday in Queenstown for her birthday as well.
We stayed in a serviced apartment by the lake. There is a beautiful sunset here every day.
We wander around in town - had the famous Fergburger as well as other stuff. Went to the waterfront, shopping area, parks etc.
We spent one day in Wanaka and one day in Milford Sound - these two places deserve a separate post.
It’s a pretty laid back couple of days.
It’s our first time and we fell in love with this city.
Great post and very nice photos @OliverKIWI . I’ve been to Queenstown many times, the last in 2018. Some areas being spoilt by over development like most tourist areas. The waterfront area is certainly very nice. There are definite differences to the town during each season.
@TheEagleEye yes, very hard to find a parking space. Some area lost its character in terms of heritage and became a tourism cliche (some development) which is really sad.
Your photos are great. I fell in love with QT after I visited last year with family. I enjoyed bungee jumping and Milford sound the most. Wanaka Lake is classic.
