The Local Guides Program allows any and everyone to be a fresh pair of eyes darting out and about for the inexperienced and those who are just beginning their social journey. It provides the ordinary Joe with the thrill and satisfaction of knowing that it isn’t simply your entertainment that goes into the program, but the future heads up to those who want to explore and become another’s pair of eyes as well. Simply put, its makes us, the ordinary, into an extraordinary service.
What this program means to me, a random woman from Jamaica, is that there is a well needed and wonderful representation and indulgence in other cultures I can only view on the wrong side of a screen. I view this program as an opportunity to lend myself, my experiences and my expertise in further understanding the various cultures, nooks and crannies of countries I could once only ever dream about… and this is a major step out of what was essentially just a dream, but now, a reality. I have been able to use my spirit of adventure, fun and frolic to advance another’s understanding of worthwhile, interesting and intimate places. Through programs like these, we offer persons not just a review, but a hunger to go out and have fun.
The local guides program has set has set itself apart in that the average individual can add immeasurably to another’s future expedition and be a part of something bigger, fun and rewarding. I savour and absolutely adore this platform and will, in my power, do any and everything I can to continue to be of service.
