Hello,
I’ve been an active contributor to Google Maps for more than a decade, but lately done of my very normal, not-breaking-rules reviews have been removed. Now, I just got a notice saying that ALL my reviews were removed and my account suspended. This makes no sense as I’ve definitely never broken any rules, and I put a lot of time into making useful contributions. Can anyone help? I need someone at Google to audit and reinstate my account…

Only Local Guides can write in Connect, and obviously a suspended account cannot
We can’t comment about your reviews, because we cannot see your contributions.
Thanks for replying. I changed the settings so you can see my reviews. This is the email I got:
“Your account has been suspended from posting reviews and your existing reviews have been taken down because of multiple violations of Google’s policies.”
I am 99% positive that none of my reviews broke any rules.I put a lot of effort into contributing to Maps over the past 15 years or so and this feels like a real slap in the face 
Can you please help?

I think something of what you wrote triggered a filter, and you received a wrong message, because in fact most of your reviews are visible.
If you check 
your profile 
in Incognito mode you will see that most (172) of your reviews are public visible.

Generally speaking, we can say that a review is made private when it violates the Maps User Contributed Content Policy
As you can read in Flag and fix inappropriate content "If a review you wrote has been flagged and removed, you can fix it yourself. Edit your review to follow Google review policies — for example, you might remove a phone number or URL from the review. Your review will be automatically republished.
Google uses automated spam detection measures to remove reviews that are probably spam. Although legitimate reviews are sometimes inappropriately removed, these spam prevention measures help improve people’s experiences on Google by ensuring that the reviews they see are authentic, relevant, and useful.".
Recently we had a lot of reviews removed (and this is not necessarily bad, because most of them were really violating the rules) and I see that you already wrote here for checking your profile.
The additional step that I suggest to you, as you received the message “Your account has been suspended from posting reviews”, is to fill out the Appeal form, letting Google know that you have been suspended for writing reviews. Be sure to provide your Google Maps profile URL so Google can look into it. It can take up to three weeks to investigate banned accounts, so please be patient. The team will reach out privately as soon as they have an update.

Regarding your query on which @ErmesT shared great advises, I would like to add some points.
Since your profile is now public I see that you have contributed to some places in France. To provide additional transparency of Google’s review moderation decisions, we’re rolling out email alerts to inform people who review a business or place in France on Google if their review is not published or is removed. This happens regardless of where the user is located.
Since you have also posted in the ongoing thread about missing reviews, your details were forwarded for further check.

It would be best if the emails also said why the review was hidden/removed (and had a button to ‘modify and re-submit’ it), and how to appeal it so that a human can check it. This would also help Local Guides to not feel so frustrated with Google, and help Google to improve the algorithm.
