Over the years I posted reviews of places we went to, mostly hotels, restaurants, travel destinations and such - without any major hikkups.
What I noticed recently is, that by default all my reviews, even those including photographs of receipts, meals etc are claimed to be violaing some standards or for alledgedly being spam.
Sometimes I can appeal, sometimes not, very strange.
I am wondering if this is only happening here?
Maybe time to pause with the reviews for a year or two and check back later on?
This has happened to me. I left an honest review of a business that showed evidence of my claims and opinion. I think the business reported me and my review because my"good" reviews were showcased after that.
I am questioning the AI because I couldn’t get a person to tell me anything other than - “something” and yet nothing aligned with what they have written as a violation. Now I wonder if business can just get items removed they don’t like, which waters down me trusting the reviews that remain!!
No, it doesn’t happen only to you. More and more Local Guides complain that their reviews and photos are marked as spam. Google is currently implementing routines that automatically check if the reviews comply with the new regulations. Unfortunately, this is not yet running optimally. We’re all waiting for that to work properly again.
