Alkinuri Mazar Sharif: A Sacred Place of Spiritual Peace
The Journey Begins
One fine day, I decided to visit a well-known spiritual place in our locality—Alkinuri Mazar Sharif. I had heard a lot about it, and finally, I got the chance to experience it myself.
Starting from Ramdayal Bazar, I headed 1 km south towards the Meghna River, where this historic shrine is located. The road leading to the shrine is paved with bricks, surrounded by lush greenery. As I approached, I saw a grand entrance gate with the name “Pir-e-Kamel Shah Sufi Hazrat Maulana Bashir Ahmed (Rah.)” inscribed on it. Entering through the gate, I immediately felt a sense of peace and serenity.
The Beauty and Atmosphere of the Shrine
The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful dome of the shrine. Next to it stood the “Char Algi Dargah Bari Noorani & Hafezia Madrasa”, along with the Purbo Algi Bashiria Jame Masjid. The entire atmosphere radiated tranquility, with coconut and date palm trees adding to the natural beauty.
Standing in front of the shrine, I felt a deep spiritual connection. Locals told me that Baba Jan Alkinuri (Rah.) was a true saint, guiding many towards righteousness. His teachings and legacy still inspire thousands of devotees.
The Grand Urs Festival
Every February, a grand Urs Mahfil is held here, attracting 20,000–30,000 visitors from Hasan Hossain village, Dhaner Sheesh village, and surrounding areas. During this event, around 20 cows are sacrificed, and thousands of people are served food. This spiritual gathering is a moment of divine connection for those who seek peace and blessings.
My Experience
I spent some time exploring the area, talking to locals, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The place had such a calming effect that I wished I could stay longer. If you’ve never been here before, I strongly recommend visiting. It’s a place where you’ll find not just history but also an overwhelming sense of spiritual serenity.
