Hola @annamariapino , “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect” . This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here.
Thanks for sharing your list with us! very helpful. Have you visited all the places, or are you planning to visit them Soon? I am asking because you wrote 75 reviews, and there are 95 places in the list?
Also please accept a small suggestion from an old Local guide: please check your profile and remove all the photos uploaded more than once. Your photos are beautiful and your reviews interesting. It would be a mess to have your account removed from the program for violation of the rules.
In addition let me take this opportunity to wish you an happy new year, and a fruitful 2023 as a Local Guide and in your life.
Do you have a doubt about how to do something here or in maps? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.
Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation
Hi @ErmesT ! Thanks a lot for the warm welcome . Wishing you a wonderful 2023!
Great. I’ll review the guide .
Yep. I’ve been to 90% of those places I would say. Some of them I’ve included in my “want to go” list and in my “anti-inflammatory food” list. I’ll follow your suggestion to keep it clean and just leave the ones that I’ve tried and add the missing review for those ones.
3.Btw. Where do you know which ones are missing a review without going one by one? I don’t see those types of analytics.
Thanks for the suggestion on the duplicate pictures. I didn’t know about the rules and we’ll… here goes a feedback to the Google maps team : sometimes the app breaks and I have to post the pictures " twice ". And then we discover that I had duplicates. It would be nice to a) review that bug and b) just as your Google pixel warns you about duplicate files, we could use the same alert system here
Don’t worry about correcting the list. I was just curious about the fact that you had less reviews than the number of places in the list :-). Checking the list time by time may help you to remember to add the reviews.
There is no way to see if a review is missing other than checking the places one by one. One trick, that I use often, is to use your review as the description of the place. It may sounds weird, but it helps to improve the quality of my reviews. I also wants to thank you for your question, because checking one of my lists I realized that I didn’t wrote all the descriptions (nor the reviews) so now I am fixing my list Aquileia, Roman Empire in the north east of Italy
I personally started to talk with Google about the duplicates issue during the Local Guides Summit 2017 in San Francisco. I know they are well aware of the issue, and one of my suggestions was exactly the one mentioned by you. My feeling is that, due to the large amount of Local Guides (150 millions) this check would use a huge amount of resources to check the duplicates for every person that is uploading a photo. But my hope is that one day we will have a warning about that. I well know that most of the duplicates are not intentional
