Alert on INDONESIAN Food in Trivandrum

I never thought I could find INDONESIAN food in Trivandrum. Recently, I was passing by the Bypass road to Kovalam and found the low-profile restaurant called CAFE MANNAM.

I dived into their menu and found the very interesting The NASI GORENG… ordered it. And to my great surprise, it was extraordinary. It comes in Chicken and Beef Variants.

For those who aren’t aware, Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian Fried-rice deviation with tender pieces of meat melded into the superbly flavoured rice, topped with a sunny-side-up egg.

But unfortunately, there is not much notable oriental dishes on the menu other than the Goreng. But the restaurant also served great grills, especially the spicy Angara Kebab. Also, up for grabs are the untried Maldivian dishes such as Maariha, Garudhiya, Kulhimaa, Thalima and Mashuni. Their curries and biriyanis are just passable.

I encourage our foodie local guides in Trivandrum to give the outlet a try. Follow me on INSTAGRAM for more updates.

This is very cool @abrahamjoseph236 ! So if I understand correctly, it’s not an Indonesian restaurant, but more like a local restaurant that happen to serve nasi goreng? Was it actually called ‘nasi goreng’ in the menu? Nonetheless, it definitely looks like the usual nasi goreng that we usually get in Indonesia. So glad you enjoyed it
