Akaka Falls State Park

I visited Akaka falls on my recent trip to Big Island Hawaii. Akaka Falls State Park is located 11 Miles north of Hilo, HI. Falls is 442 feet tall. There is a 0.4 Mile beautiful loop trail near the falls. Trail head starts at the parking lot. It was a pleasant experience to walk through lush tropical forest.

There is an entrée fee of $5 per head and also a $10 Parking fee. As we go through the loop trail, you will end up at the falls. Due to Covid, the loop was made as one way. Wearing mask was mandatory when I visited in July 2021

Loop trail has several steps. You can experience lush vegetation during the hike.

We came across Bamboo and streams.

Some interesting flowers on the way…

A type of Banyan Tree I guess!

Back to the parking lot after taking a loop hike!

Just half a mile from the Akaka falls State Park, we came across Aloha farm, where they were selling tender coconut juice and cut pineapples. Pineapples very sweet and so does tender coconut. After we finished drinking coconut juice, tender coconut was mixed with pineapple with Tajin. Combination was heavenly!
