I went to afternoon tea at the Fairmont Pallisar in Calgary, AB yesterday to celebrate my girlfriends’ birthday.
With that visit, I had tried the afternoon teas at the Fairmonts in the Calgary area including:
- Fairmont Chateau in Lake Louise, AB
- Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, AB
- Fairmont Pallisar in Calgary, AB
I wanted to give brief comparison of all of them to help people chose which one is worth going to.

The afternoon tea at the Fairmont Chateau was about $52.00 CAD per person and had an amazing view of Lake Louise. It was the first one I went to so I thought the food was pretty good at the time, but later I would learn that the other locations are better. When I went, their main dining restaurant was under renovation so we were seated at their lounge restaurant. It wasn’t super fancy but it was still pretty relaxing and beautiful. One thing to consider if going here, is the drive to this location as it take about 2 hours to get there by car from Calgary.

At $70.00 per person, this one is the most expensive of the three. There isn’t a view with it being in downtown Calgary, but you will be dining at their newly renovated Hawthorn Dining Room which is very modern looking and beautiful. The food is good and was better than the Fairmont Chateau in my opinion. It is also the easiest to get to with it being right in downtown Calgary.

This one is the overall winner of the three because of the food, view, and price.
It was about $52.00 per person and featured great food, and a fantastic view of the Rockies. The restaurant itself wasn’t as nice as the other two but the food looked and tasted the best.
