It seems impossible, yet it is true: it seems to me yesterday when, with Local Guides from a lot of different places in Europe, we were cutting the cake that celebrated the third edition of the Wine Meet-up
Three years during which the life of all of us has changed radically, and for at least five of the Local Guides who over the years have traveled to Treviso to celebrate the friendship of the community, life has changed NOT ONLY because of Covid. I extend a special hug to them, with the affection and love from all of us.
The pandemic is not over, but we have learned to respect the rules, to use the protective mask, to keep our distance. so we said “why not?”
The meet-up
This is not the Official Post to open the meet-up, but a way to start that we intend to do so, and we are organizing to identify the most suitable places for the event.
As always we will explore food and territory. This year the wine we are going to explore will be organic wine, that is:
produced with organic grapes, grown without the help of synthetic chemicals (fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, pesticides in general)
without the use of genetically modified organisms
Prepared in the cellar using only the oenological products and processes authorized by the European regulation on organic wines
When: on 12 and 13 November 2022
Where: In Treviso area, between the Alps and Venice
What we will do: We will explore
Wine - The Veneto region produces a large variety of wines, which are one of the business cards of this area
Food - Some typical products of the Treviso area are a unique feature, such as the famous late red radicchio, which in November is found in all markets and restaurants.
Cakes - Although the logic that says that sweets are in fact “food”, some of these, such as the famous Tiramisù, are a distinctive feature of Treviso known all over the world.
Territories: The Veneto region extends between the sea and the Alps, with some world famous pearls such as Venice and the Dolomites. Between them develops a world of hidden, or lesser known, gems. These are precisely the places we want to show you
Why we want to meet: Because the friendship between the Local Guides is strengthened during the meetings, and why, well, because we miss all of you.
Fun Fact: In 2017, 2018 and 2019 the Wine meet-up always took place a few days after Connect Live, and this had now become a tradition. This year Connect Live didn’t take place, so we believe this event may bode well to restore it in 2023. Don’t you agree?
Our Special Ambassadors
For this post I wanted to choose four “ambassadors” to represent the four key elements of the meet-up.
@NatalkaR , @uavalentine , @JaneBurunina , @AntonellaGr are four Local Guides present in the 2019 Meet-up. For some of them, life in 2022 has not been easy, and they are facing enormous challenges.
I don’t know if all of them will be able to join them this year, but my greeting goes to them and (I hope) that of the whole Connect community.
Yayyyy @ErmesT , the tradition of having your wine meet-up in the Fall is back! I can’t wait to see, and of course, your photos and meet-up recap, who will be the lucky Local Guides that will RSVP to your amazing wine and food cornucopia meet-up.
You have a lot of catching up because of the unexpected pandemic that would not end!
Se non ricordo male mi avevi chiesto di essere informata sulle date del meet-up, perciò eccoci qua, con le date e le indicazioni di massima su quello che si farà . @biancainviaggio , @DENIT33 , voi ci siete?
Wow that’s so nice , I’m so happy that life is becoming normal everywhere , and we are seeing real life events. So it will be like a mini Connect Live or Mini Euro meet-up.
I heartly wish that I can join this amazing meet-up and can get the opportunity to meet you, @JaneBurunina and other best friends there
Grande @ErmesT ! A presto!
@Velvel - Beringer is a big winery here. I like Merlots more than cabs because cabs can sometimes have strong tannins. I like my reds smooth and mellow. As for Italian wine recommendations, I wait for my Italian wine courier to drop off bottles.I wonder WHO this Italian courier is @ErmesT ??
Dear @ErmesT , I am very very sad that I will not be able to attend the wine meetup. I would have loved to see you guys again and I think it’s a real shame that it didn’t work out. My wife is also away that very weekend and we can’t leave the kids alone. I would also have been super happy to ride together with @TorM . I still remember our trip to the Euro meetup in Krakow so well. In any case, I’m looking forward to the next meetups - whether in Europe or California - and hope to see you all again. I really miss you guys.
