Africa is not a country

For me, sharing on google maps is all about sharing the small bits of paradise, demystify any misbeliefs
or myths about Uganda and in general Africa. I am greatly disappointed that to this day, there are
people out there who still have these ridiculous and rather painful misunderstandings about Africa
and the people that come from this side of the world. It really bothers me to have to correct the
simplest and, for lack of a better word, dumb; from simple things like Africa is not a country to more
country specifics like how, 40 years later, some people still know Uganda for Idd Amin or the
misgivings about the perceptions about how LGBT community are treated in Uganda.
I just to show that from where I hail, it is normal. It is a normal place. The people are normal, the
places are normal, the neighbourhood is normal. We have our shortcoming like any other human
beings, we are underdeveloped, we have poverty here and there, crime, etc. Nevertheless, we are
normal.
