On Monday 25 May we celebrated Africa Day - it is to commemorate the day the African Union was formed in 1963. It is a day where we celebrate our diversity and also the fact that our differences make us stronger together. In this world today we need to embrace our diversity and look out for one another again.
We have a school project in one of the informal township areas in Cape Town and I want to share some pictures with you. Then you will see that there is always hope in Africa and when we look at children we always know there is a great future ahead as long as we make sure our children receive opportunities to develop their skills and understanding of this world.
We created a Halloween themed activity where the kids were allowed to dress up and then we would walk through the township area where most of them live. This was followed by a birthday party as many of the kids have never experienced a proper birthday celebration in their lives. I share some other images of people we encountered along the way also.
