I’m trying to add a landmark with no proper address. Its in a rural area so I’ve used coordinates. I keep getting promoted to Enter valid address. Is there something obvious I am doing in error or is there another way to go about adding landmarks?

When we attempt to enter a new place, the program populates the address field by default. You need not override that. Thus, I could suggest a POI creation even at the Antarctic without any error message (though I didn’t do that)!

I tried adding by moving the pin around on the map, then letting the address field self populate. Now I recieve a new error message

When I tried creating a spot there, the field displayed an address as in the screenshot below.
Regrettably, I can’t move further as I do not wish to create a fictitious POI. Nevertheless, I find a school in that village and hence someone had success in creating a new spot there.
My suggestion would be to try to create a spot in a satellite view depicting an identifiable structure. Then, if you continue to get the same error message, include that screenshot of satellite view, and tag a Google moderator.
