Adding places? Check this out!

Adding places is the most interesting thing I’ve done as a local guide.

I’m keen on photography and since I’m a local guide I’ve uploaded a lot of photos, I always take some photos to Google maps when I’m going somewhere. Usually when I get home I check if the places I’ve been to exist on Google Maps, sometimes I have the chance to create a new place.
As a Google Maps user I like to check what to expect from the place I’m going to and the photos and comments from others help me a lot.
I’ve been successful with most of the places I try to add but sometimes, for some reason it’s just not possible to confirm it and I don’t get the OK from Google. It happened last year when I tried to add “Carapeto”, an abandoned village (a few stone houses) lost in the middle of the woods nearby Fátima, this “village” had 15 to 20 habitants in 1758 according to old church books.

Hi @Azim7 ,

You may be new on Connect or writing to share a post for your Connect Live application. If you’re applying to Connect Live be sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompts. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 by taking a look at the guidelines. You can also check How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Your guide to creating lists on Google Maps.

P.S.: Keep in mind that one of the requirements is to share your post on the Local Stories board. I’ve moved your post there.

Hello brother @Azim7 I am from Chapai Nawabgonj too and never heard about Carapeto. Can you tell me more about that place? If it is real and important, I can try including that on wikipedia too.
