Adding Places! Areas (Nationalpark, Biosphere Reserve), why is they displayed many different styles?

Hi everyone,

a topic that confuses me for quite a while (see 2016 post below) and where I still fail to understand the logic - or even better the how to: protected areas are displayed in various styles from clearly marked area to location of a Visitor center etc (see pix). I understand that I can add places, but can I (or some wizard around here) add areas - and if so: how? I would like to locate pix in an area, but that does not work - so they end up (wrongly) displaying an office building, because Nationalpark authority is based there. How can this be solved?

Thanks, Marcus

This is the original post from 2016:
Hello, some Nationalparks pop up from the recommendations list, while for other protected areas there is no entry. I don’t know, if this has to do with Germany (the Austrian parks are on display), but I would like to add pictures for the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve (a specific place would not help, as it’s mostly landscape only). How to do?

Hi @MarcusBauer

Local guides can not suggest edits to areas and create areas.

But we can provide feedback to have Google staff make such changes.

Use these Steps to send feedback.

If you are confused about areas and items on the maps not accepting edits and photos, please enjoy overview Shapes and Places - Guidance on where to add edits and photos including both flat and photospheres by PaulPavlinovich.

Thanks @MortenCopenhagen . I tried that and now let’s see what the feedback is.
