I use the Street View app to submit photos I take of Bicycle Trails here in Kansas City.
I’m wanting to offer a service to local bicycle shops to sponsor 360 photos of these bike trail photos.
Since I can’t add a nadir photo via the app, I’m wondering if I could put the nadir logo on my bicycle helmet (see image for a crude mock up).
The sponsorship logo would be captured in the nadir area of the photo, I use a backpack with a tripod for the camera. Does anyone know if this would be acceptable per Google Street View Terms?
After shooting the photos, I would transfer the photos to the sponsor’s Google account.
Thanks!

HI @andyoneil ,
take a read about the guidelines : Superimposed text or graphics
In my opinion it seems big enough to me as a logo, maybe just a little small will be perfect!
If you need other informations we are here!

Thanks for your response @davidhyno , I’ve looked at the guidelines and have the following comments…
(I just want to make sure my photos won’t be removed after I do the work to add them).
Superimposed text or graphics, including promotional content such as logos, are subject to the following requirements:
-
For 360 photos, superimposed content must be limited to either the zenith or nadir (top or bottom 25% of the equirectangular image), but cannot be present in both.
- The image I added is easily within the bottom 25% of the image
-
For traditional digital photos and videos, superimposed content cannot take up more than 10% of the image or video, and must be limited to a single edge.
- I don’t believe this applies.
-
Superimposed text or graphics must be relevant.
-
Distracting superimposed text or graphics are not permitted.
- This doesn’t distract from the overall usage of the 360 photo, you have to look down at the nadir to see the branding. I don’t believe this would be considered distracting.
Is there any way to know for sure this is allowable? Is there a way to ask Google directly?
There’s also this:
When including branding in the nadir of your imagery or on the roof of your vehicle, you must:
- have permission to use the branding.
- I do have permission from my client
- only display content that is relevant (for example, promoting local tourism) or is otherwise limited to attribution.
- “or is otherwise limited to attribution” which I believe applies.

Hi @andyoneil ,
I think that your logo will be ok if you reduce it a bit!
