Adding multiple categories for the same place - it doesn't make the place appear for those new ones

I have a place that has the category gift shot/store. But it is also a children store / toy store. I noticed that you can add more than one category for each place so I tried to add those 2 others as well.
I was able to do that as the business owner but it has no effect on search in Google Maps - this store is still not shown when you search for children store in Google Maps.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue and how to fix it?
This is the place in question: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tulipop/@64.1428763,-21.9302247,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x48d60ad57ec57b91:0x4d03364c40a5f4d4!8m2!3d64.142874!4d-21.928036

There are two types of categories in the context of your question:

  1. Primary Category = the main general category that describes the place the best (holistically)
  2. Secondary Categories = all additional categories that apply.

Local Guides can only edit the Primary Category at this moment. Google My Business owners can also edit the secondary categories.

It is only the Primary category that is shown on maps, the additional secondary categories are used in the background when people make searches OR (I believe) when questions about a place are being asked.

I have no idea how long it takes for the categories to be indexed for the search engine. The other thing that might affect the search result is that earlier search results were stored in a cache and need a refresh?

But strictly speaking, your question belongs on the GMB user forum
