why do i need to reduce the size of the picture i need to add in the post ?

it is difficult and feels like a rework.

any suggestions on how to do it ?

I am writing the post from my mobile in browser - google chrome. It says the limit is 3MB.

Nevertheless, if you are a Windows user, you can do that speedily using the standard programs such as MS paint or Photos.

PS. If you wish to resize on the phone, you can use snapseed to do that. There is an image sizing option and JPEG quality option in the settings.

Using that you can export the image into a smaller file size. Then that can be used to post

Well, the photo upload size limit is 3MB for connect (whether you use Desktop or on Mobile device). I assume the reason for the file limit is to avoid unnecessary large amount of file sizes that are both a pain to upload as well as to download when you view a post. It is also interesting to know that our screen (desktop/mobile devices) can only display a certain number of pixels and sometimes even uploading a very large file (Bigger size) or detailed (greater resolution) may appear as standard.

Here’s a quick tool to compress your photos (you can use this on your desktop / mobile device).

Maybe you could set your camera to take lower resolution photos just for Connect posting purpose, @NikitaVatsavayi ?

So there’s no need to resize it before posting it

As @C_T and @OmerAli mentioned, there is a size limit for uploading photos on Connect. Please check out the links that they provided you to get to know how to resize photos.
