For some beaches it would be convenient that it is also marked as a (pedestrian only) road so it is used in pedestrian navigation.
Eg. for the beach in the screenshot I tried to add a missing road several times, but it is always rejected, and so the navigation for pedestrians is suboptimal.
Is there an explicit policy about this, any advice?
I would like to remind you that you can add a missing road just by sending feedback. Here’s an article on the topic Add a missing road to the map.
In addition, if you would like to share your ideas on how to improve the program, feel free to add them in the Idea Exchange. To learn more about the Idea Exchange, you can read this article How do I use the Idea Exchange?
I’ve added quite some pedestrian paths already in several countries, so the procedure is not the problem, this is clear. The problem is that adding a pedestrian path over a beach seems typically not to be accepted.
So I wonder if there is some guideline to the people that do revisions not to accept that circumstance. And if so, can guideline be changed ;-)? Or are the revisions typically done by a local expert as well?
Just for information, in my experience pedestrian paths are more often accepted if I do give them a name (which then often isn’t retained in the map), but this can be a coincidence.
