The most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide:
Travelling, hiking, exploring the beauty of earth and adventure is my favorite hobby and I always prefer to explore new places. I also visit already explored areas in different way and in different seasons. My job also demands a lot of local and international travel. Sharing my visits with others always created curiosity in them to visit that place. There is nothing tough like guiding people verbally or over the phone, I decided to be a local guide on google to solve the problem and this lead me assist thousands in making decision to visit some area and about rout plans. Adding places and providing reviews about quality, food, services and giving exact rating actually helped many which actually is not countable for me at least.
is a public office to help guide migrants and create awareness in potential migrants of Pakistan to different regions of the world. Reaching that office was really a challenge and many people in need of information of that office could not made to visit them because they actually were not able to understand the rout to that office. I added that place to google map and informed the officials to always share this link or tell the visitors to search this office on google map and it will provide complete route to the office. Adding this place really increased the access of people to that office who took help from google. Same public service office in Islamabad observed this success and marked their location on the map. Officials of that office always remember me to invite on different events as they always send google map location of their office to the invitees and stay calm that no one will lose the way. They always introduce me for this idea.
Sharing pictures of visited places is also an interesting thing on google map. It helped people in recognizing places on the bases of pictures uploaded and also provides a virtual view to them which helps in deciding visit to an area. My pictures of Spice Bazar and Lake View Park proved to be eye catching and explaining the actual view of that area. Through these small acts I helped many to visit places of their interest and helped businesses in spreading actual and updated information about them and their products/services.
Helping people through adding places and providing updated and actual information through reviews is the most interesting thing I’ve done as a local guide.
