achieving high view rates

has anyone thought about boosting the view rates on goog;e maps? are there any recommendations to achieve that while encouraging people to read reviews? I see reviews getting millions of views even though they’re not of high quality.

Hi @UrbanAdventurer

Are you interested in boosting review views or also photo views?

Regarding the latter I shared 95% of my secrets in this series on Storefront photography.

That is a really good post that you shared, I was looking for such a thing that matches my perspective whenever I take new photos. however, I observed that the environment plays a huge role such as the location and the visual conditions.

when I was in Copenhagen two months ago I saw a lot of matching conditions that could be used for a perfect photo. as a local guide in Bucharest I will take your advice into account and I have a good feeling that it’ll eventually come to some spectacular results. thank you @MortenCopenhagen

I’m happy to read your reply, @UrbanAdventurer .

Keep in mind that the golden hour where we can take pics with great balance between in- and outdoor light is quite a bit longer in Copenhagen than Bukarest.

Please prove me wrong

Thank you for bringing that to my attention @MortenCopenhagen . I haven’t thought about it before as I’m more inclined to environmental constraints. my personal preference is on a waterfront with a golden light reflection to well-built architecture.

P.S., it’s the first day on this good website for local guides to connect and I appreciate what I learned today. I have an impression that it can be also a good way to meet people who also perceive things that are meaningful just like the Couchsurfing platform.

Hallo, @UrbanAdventurer , I see you had a great answer from @MortenCopenhagen . His series is extremely interesting and helpful.

Also please let me add a note: a long series of redundant photos like in This place is not the appropriate way to add contents in Maps, and can also end in some issue, because redundancy is forbidden, because do not add any additional information about a place. Please read the Community policy :

  • “Take photos that clearly and accurately represent a location …**”
  • “Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, … will also be removed.”

In addition, a part of putting your account at risk, a redundant or duplicate photo will demote all your photos, reducing your possibility of getting views. Keeping only one photo per subject, and deleting all the others, will increase your possibility of getting views. E.g. in this church you added the same photo twice (before and after editing the light). Removing the dark one would be a great action

You are much better off with genuine organic growth @UrbanAdventurer that will be of much higher quality than any forced approach.
