I’m a level 10 Local Guide and my account has been banned and reinstated no less than SIX times in the last 2 months.
I most recently received the email confirming that my account was fine and there were no issues with my contributions over a week ago (note: I’ve received six of these emails)!
It’s been 10 full days since I got the email, and every day I obsessively check to see if I can log back into Connect, and more importantly, to begin contributing to Google Maps again…
It seems everyone has a different answer to this question, but what’s the lag time between getting the email that your account is okay and actually being able to contribute again as a normal local guide??
THANK YOU times a million for any help you can lend on this frustrating topic!
OH! And YES - I understand the fact that if I’m posting on here means my account is resolved. However I was JUST banned again in the last 5 minutes and I’m posting this topic with the hope that it will go through!
It might take some time in getting complete access to the program but surely you’ll get it. Also, I looked at your map contribution, and every single picture is wonderful. What I observe is
You have posted duplicate images or the same image taken from several angles.
You have roughly 100 ratings and 100 reviews. (Recommendation: I don’t know about your experience, but if a local guide is rating a place, they must have been there and can provide a bit of details on their visit.)
Since the policy does not include all of my words, I may not be an expert here; however, the information above is based on my personal experiences.
I see that you are again suspended on Maps (your LG level is no longer shown on your Maps profile) but here on Connect you still have access.
It is two separate systems and there is a delay before Maps suspensions are reflected on Connect.
I’m sure the LG team were involved in your latest reinstatement. So hopefully @DeniGu will follow up and investigate how come you repeatedly get kicked automatically on Maps. If you want I could also take a look and compare your contributions with the guidelines in aware of like @deepakjhic just did.
@deepakjhic did you notice 121k edits and 17k answers? That’s the vast part of her contributions. 100 reviews and 100 ratings are absolut plausible. The photos are of impressive quality. To good to be true? (for me: no, but the systems seems to see a problem apparently..)
@makky thank you for your reply. That’s phenomenal & this is the first time I found on someone’s profile. I completely ignored because that is something we can’t confirm the type or quality, by just watching contribution but can help each other by going through their visible contribution.
Just visited her profile and she’s cleaning the trash very fast. More than 100 photos has been removed from her profile, but the rating stays the same.
Hello, thankfully, I have never experienced any suspension of my LG status or Connect account. As “busy” as I may be, I have nowhere near the volume of contributions as Samantha. I’ve been alongside her through this roller coaster and am just as confused as she is.
@JustJake 60k edits of yours is “just” half of hers, but still far beyond average. @AdamGT 29k @JanVanHaver 28k with still very impressive counts
Already on Olympus: @MortenCopenhagen 108k
Concerning the roller coaster ride: on the one hand scary and intimidating, on the other hand interesting how these complex data systems behave, and apparently how false despite all ai and whatever!
Sam and I were racing for a while, so I kept track of her production. On a daily/weekly basis during that time, I was only pulling 1/3rd of what she got. To give you an idea, on Feb 1st, she had 68,763 edits & I had 47,057. By May 2nd, she’d added 38,226 vs my 11,716. To be fair, I took some time off to add and edit roads, but still!
.. and “just” edit in the stats means an approved edit
So you really earn the points with edits – same with street edits.
22k street edits of yours is a number too
PS: i have a lingual question – what is more common: tag or tagging in that case?
