Accessible Port Harcourt Mall

This is not my first visit but it’s my first time to explore the accessibility features available here in this shopping mall. I have not written many accessibility posts aa well but I have a few. Here you go anyway. All the accessibility champions on the forum.

It’s the best shopping place we have in Port Harcourt city,Rivers State of Nigeria. I often visit the place for shopping and other leisure activities. Aside shopping places,it does have restaurants, cinemas etc. On this mini accessibility walk I realised that it has other accessibility features that I never realised. Right from the entrance there is very wide ramp.

On my visit today I realised that it had accessible restrooms. I felt happy about that. Accessibility is gradually gaining grounds in west Africa. I will plan to lookout for more features on my travels around.

I posted some of these photos on Google maps as well. Aside the accessibility features there are also clearly marked signs for directions. I just like the set up in general. Just to share these with you all.

Happy guiding

@SholaIB It’s fantastic to see such attention to inclusivity in public spaces, especially in a bustling city like Port Harcourt. The fact that you’ve taken the time to explore and highlight these features is so important for raising awareness.

Wonderful @SholaIB ,

Keep pumping these accessibility posts!

Good luck!

Hello @Mo_TravelleerX

Yes !!! Being a local guide opens your mind to alot things and issues you will normally not think about. I’m happy I explored this mall that day.

Thank you @Lukas_1 appreciate your comment as well. I often take a break from roads to do something easier and less technical. Lol.

Happy guiding

This is interesting to note. I have seen accessible toilets only a few times in Lagos. One was in a coworking space I paid for in 2021 and another in Eko Hotel.

The more attention we pay to these things, the more we see them around I guess.

Thanks for sharing @SholaIB . Will look for more of accessible place in the future
