Accessible Gujarat: BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Mahesana

Dear Local Guides,

Greetings!!

Today I am telling you story about the Swani Narayan temple (also wrote the review) of Mehsana. Where there is a school and book store for children.

About the Temple

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Mehsana, Gujarat, is a temple dedicated to Swaminarayan, a revered figure in the Hindu faith, and is known for its spiritual atmosphere and community engagement. This temple is a part of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).

Main Gate Entrance

As soon as you enter the temple gate, you will find security. After passing through the checking, if you take a photo from the side of the gate, it will look something like this.

Accessible Entrance with Wheelchair Lift

I really liked the wheelchair lift of this temple, it would have been better if this lift was in the front area of the temple. However, having a wheelchair lift in a temple is a big thing.

Bhojnalaya (Temple Kitchen)

Right at the door of the temple, as you enter you will find the kitchen where you can eat or drink something.

BAPS Swaminarayan Vidhyamandir (School)

The temple has its own trust through which schools and colleges are run.

Temples were traditionally known for schools, medical facilities, and centers of art and culture.

Nice to know that the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Mahesana upholds this tradition.

I like the perspective in all the photos - perfect :+1: @giteshsharma
I’d love to visit here in the future.

@TusharSuradkar sir, I also felt good to see that this temple has taken care of its residents. I visit many such temples which work in the fields of medicine, research, education and arts & culture. For example ISKCON & Sri Hanuman Temple, Patna.
