Accessibility is Respect.
This picture represents for me what should be the rule worldwide, but what we see is very different from that, especially here in Brazil.
I took this photo, because I was amazed with the Accessibility provided in the city of San Francisco - CA. Something that should be common and simple, but that most of the rulers are not concerned with providing to their people.
In this photo, we can see two people with advanced age, making it easy to get on and off a bus. Smooth sidewalk, without obstacles, with adequate height.
The prepared bus, with an entrance platform for a wheelchair, which descends to a low height, facilitating the entry of disabled people.
It is still possible to see a gentleman easily retrieving his bicycle at the front of the bus.
Something that is routine and should be like that all over the world. Because we all pay taxes and we must have accessibility, so that we can live well in society, respecting the universal right to come and go.
But many have this private right, especially people with limited mobility, such as people who use wheelchairs or elderly people, who have difficulty walking on poorly maintained sidewalks and full of obstacles.
Accessibility means social inclusion. A basic right.
I hope that this accessibility will someday be a common rule worldwide.
Congratulations to the city of San Francisco, for respecting citizens!
