I wanna share my experience about nursery room / lactation room Public Spaces. Disclaimer, i’m not medical officer or have an expert in the health field.

This is not a new issue but it is interesting to remind again how important public access is for breastfeeding mothers. Even though today is not celebrating breastfeeding week (it was held for the first time 1-6 August 2017). But just to share experiences and serve as a reminder together.
The World Breastfeeding Week commemoration initiative aims to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding and promote women’s rights to breastfeed in public spaces (unicef) . Such as shopping centers like mall or traditional market, libraries, galleries, restaurants, cafes, museums, public transport, etc. Almost all countries are trying to provide breastfeeding room services in public places with the support of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Manpower, and other authorities. Also, we as humans, individuals, protect the mother’s right to feel comfortable breastfeeding in public places.

Recently I found a lactation room in a traditional market (review). his is something new after all this time. Even though the conditions are very simple, it is quite helpful for mothers who will use it. Unlike most places with more comfortable conditions, this space is quite cramped and lacks facilities.
This article also reminds myself to always look around when you come to a public place and find a nursery room to include in your review.
Hopefully “Support for Breastfeeding” will be carried out by all parties, for us as a society, power leaders, health institutions and others
