Abacha also known as African Salad which is prepared with cassava, potash, palm oil, salt, pepper and onion. It can be ganish with fried fish and kanda. Is a very delicious meal of the IGBO tribe in Nigeria.
Hello @Chine ,
Thank you for sharing this photo with us, the meal looks very delicious! Is it spicy?
Are there any special occasions on which this dish is prepared, or one can eat it whenever?

Wow, thank you for introducing me to a rare dish that I have never seen in Japan. Is this a stir fry or a simmered dish?
I’m reading using Google Translate. However, there were some ingredients I didn’t know. Can you tell me what potash and kanda are?
By the way, there is a place called kanda=神田 in the place name of Tokyo.

It is famous as a city with many bookstores, sporting goods stores, and curry restaurants.
Thanks to you, the number of dishes you want to eat will increase. Once covid-19 has converged, I would like to go to a restaurant in Africa or another country to eat them.
Kanda or Kpomo is a cow skin used to prepare some dish in Nigeria, it is preferred by many usually when the cow skin is so soft.
Have a look at Kanda or Kpomo
Potash originates from wood ash. It is gotten from burning the leaves of palm in a careful way to get this Potash it is very different from Akanwu which may be Potassium Carbonate.
Here is a picture Potash
